I started this a few days ago - just a rough sketch in flash then put in a sky and boat - I felt motivated today to finish it of so I put in the reeves and it all started flowing from there - I really like the colours in this one, I think I'm finally getting the hang of using colours - hope you like it : )

Aggghhh its a Yetti!

hey everyone

Hope your all having a great weekend and enjoying the sunshine : ) well... for the few hours it was sunny... I finished a draft run through of my major work, surprisingly I think I have too much animation, so I'm going to have to go back and take out some frames - everything also looks really fast, but its too late to change that now I think, especially as I haven't even started colouring!

The images above I did today, I needed a little creative break from my major work so I thought I'd surf the web for some inspiration then draw some fun stuff - I came across this cool site that gives you ideas of what to draw so I picked "Yetti" and "Star wars" I'm going to colour the yeti in later (I need an early night tonight as I'm working at the restaurant tomorrow) - oh bummer, its already midnight... oh well

just a work in progress

I know two post in one night - well technically one at night and one in the morning as its almost 2 : ) - like the title says its just a work in progress, I'm just trying to decide how to finish it of but as I keep falling asleep on the key pad I figured I better get 40 winks and continue later : )

Thought I'd work on one last one before bed - this was really good to test out perspectives and was much faster (only took less then an hour) - I'm hoping its practice thats making me faster :)

This little baby took me about 3 hours - I pretty much wanted to test out everything I could in flash : ) - I did it with the touchpad on my latop - so kinda like finger painting, next time I'll try with a waicom, but I'm quite proud of it. I owe it all to Pascal (my new un-official teacher) and total inspiration - Thanks for your help pascal

I feel pretty down today, you know when your on a roll and literally fall of - well I did that today with my animation and landed on something kinda hard and pointy... But I figured I wouldn't end my good streak of making posts - something thats at least in my control... this is an oldie but one I haven't put up before so I thought I'd give you a squiz, any way - thats all from me, its time for bed... maybe I can climb back on the roll tomorrow :P

I'm back again, thought I'd put a few more pics up - the first two are the same as the ones from my last entry - as in I took some photos and tinkered with them in Flash (loving this tool!) and the other one is created from scratch - I did the balloon in illustrator then I created a sky in photoshop - copy and pasted in the balloon and painted over it a little then put a blur on it so it fitted in more seamlessly... hmm more seamlessly...not sure if thats right, but its too late to care : ])

To Scan or not to Scan?

good afteroon bloggers, randoms and newcommers

got some good news - after three hours of standing, waiting and twisting I have a totally exhausted scanner (poor thing even conced out on me) and I've almost finished scanning all my animation into the computer (can I hear a - "WooHoo!!")- there are a couple of things I need to ufortunately fix up (tried hard to let it go, but couldn't bring myself to do it) but hopefully that will be done by monday so I can have my last scanning session... then its colour colour COLOUR.......~sigh~ man this stuff is tedious work... Oh well at least the first part was fun (and done)

Back again

Hey guys

I know - so unlike me, back again three nights in a row, but I thought I'd show you this, I know I'm a bit of a late comer but I've been exploring the features on flash and discovered the "trace bitmap" function, its awesome - I ran through some pictures I took from America and they turned out quite nicely.

I'm not sure whether this is cheating... but I do like this vector look, and its waaaaay faster than going over it myself...hmmm tis extremely tempting...

Oh well, stay tuned for some more stuff tomorrow - I'm going into Cofa and scanning some animation so hopefully I will have some stuff to play around with on Sunday

I come to you today with a few things I was working on last night, again the backgrounds were inspired by Pascal's stuff and in the vector mood i decided to nock up the kimono girl. The other pic was a rough draft for a book page - not sure if it will be included - now I'm just going over the people in my earlier entry in black so will have that for you tomorrow - hope you enjoy this!
oh and one more thought for the day - some one asked me today whether or not I was an artist - I didn't know what to say - it just sounds so pretentious - "Oh yes I'm an Artist" - got any ideas of what I could call myself - I was thinking doodler - but somehow that just doesn't seem right ^_^

Any way, this weekend looks like it will be jam packed with colouring frames - which means some time this week I'll have to scan them in.... agghhh running out of time!!! I'm completely freaking out, I had shooting pains down my arm today and my mouth went all dry as Steve told us about all the industry people that will be at the chavel screening of our major works.... and these gonna be prizes! some ones pre-decided and a peoples choice one - I really want to invite my whole family and friends so they can vote for me ^_^
